The information is revealed by a study published by Mark Graham and Ralph Straumann of the Oxford Internet Institute (OII) on the most connected countries in the world in 2016. Overall, it appears that 37 out of 54 African countries are among the most connected countries.

According to the journal afriqueexpansion.com, which reports on the study, it appears from the study that despite some delay, many countries are making enormous efforts to increase their connectivity rates.

According to the study, Nigeria appears to be the most connected African country, with more than 40 million people connected, or about 20 to 40% of the population. It is followed by Egypt, which has nearly 30 million Internet users, or about 40%. Next come South Africa, Morocco and Tunisia with almost half of the population connected.
